Irish film event to screen Iranian ‘Are You Volleyball?!’

Iranian short film ‘Are You Volleyball?!’ has been scheduled to attend the Richard Harris International Film Festival in Ireland.

Mohammad Bakhshi’s award-winning short will be screening at the 6th edition of the Irish film event.  

The 15-minute short shows a group of Arabic-speaking asylum seekers who try to make their way to the border in an English speaking country, but they cannot keep going.

They get into a conflict with border guards every day until a deaf-mute child becomes a catalyst for better communication between the two sides.

The short has so far attended a huge number of international film events and won various awards including the Audience Choice Award at the IPAS Film Festival in Greece and the Best Short Film Award at the Changing Face International Film Festival in Australia.

The Richard Harris International Film Festival honors the life and works of Richard Harris, a late prolific Irish actor and a two-time Academy Awards nominee.

The latest edition of the Irish film event is slated for October 22- 28, 2019.
